Scythe by Neal Shusterman is a futuristic book that has a very complicated, deep topic. It touches the idea that the internet (dubbed 'the thundercloud') becomes almost all knowing, solving all the worlds problems, including death. Because of the "problem" of death solved, people have become immortal, with death as the exception not the rule. Due to the problem of over population, the Scythe was formed, formed to kill people.
Scythe is possibly one of the best written books that I have read, I would give it a 10/10 due to the way this book is written, constantly delving into the topic of death and ethics and I think that it would be a very good read for someone with an open mind and advanced reading capabilities. The age range I would recommend this book for, would be between 11-18.
